That's the name of a peculiar young woman, who is known as a "holy woman", in the place she's from. Raised in a temple, Minori actually isn't very religious. She believes in spirits of the dead coming back in the form of trees, or animals, or perhaps even a rock. She is always grateful to those that help her, and believes in being nice, and that being nice will reward you, one day. It might not be rewarded right away, of course, but with patience and good deeds, you'll one day reach your wishes or dreams. So Minori is a very kind person, who dislikes seeing people get hurt. She has often made it her business to stop fights, and she does so by talking. She really dislikes using violence, and thinks that disputes does not have to be solved that way. Because what she most of all believe in, is that people are actually nice, deep down. Sadly, she has yet to prove this, but that doesn't mean that she'll top believing. She thinks that one day, the world will be at peace, and people won't fight over every little thing. And this comes from a woman who lives in a country that was filled with feuds when she lived there. Dangerous lies and fighting is something seen every day. Her heart is very pure, though, and maybe that's why she still can believe in people, even after she's been proved wrong.

Minori is a woman who has a great deal of determination, who wants to fulfill her wish of saving her village, no matter if it takes time, or how many obstacles she has to overcome. She's a woman who trusts rather than don't trust, even if she sees proof of her belives being wrong. Because she is incredibly sure that no person is completely evil, and that everytong can feel a little kindness to at least someone, even if not everyone can feel kindness toward everyone.

Even though she is kind, though, she doesn't think that pranks in all good faith and that doesn't hurt anyone, are completely alright, without your karma being damaged, or without it coming back to bite you in the rear. Not badly, at least. She loves having fun, see, and it's one of her goals in life. To have fun, and live a cheerful, bright life. If she sees someone gloomy, she can't help but try to cheer them up, even if it might involve pushing them into a river, or throwing a fish in their face. Her sense of humor can be a bit peculiar, too. She loves jokes, and when she laughs, she really laughs. Her laugh even sounds really odd and funny; uhyahyahya! it is. That might not seem very ladylike, though, and not many believe her when she tells them that she actually is regarded as holy in her village. Not even her best friend thinks that she's in any way holy. But then he's her favorite victim, because she thinks that he's way too gloomy, and needs to smile more. A goal is to make this best friend of hers, Hikae, a cheerful man, who can smile from his heart. No matter how long it takes, she is determined to make this happen, and she's sure that she will manage. She's stubborn, after all, and will not give up even if people tell her otherwise.

She's cheerful and it seems as if she's almost always smiling. She does love a good laugh, after all, and she prefers being cheerful, over being upset over something. She loves adventures, and by traveling, she has seen so many amazing things. She wishes to always travel, even though she has a set goal that she wants to reach, with the trip that made her leave her village. Because her village was in trouble, she decided to go and find the Kokonotsu, God's Treasure, and to use it to save her village. Because the Kokonotsu is supposed to grant a wish of yours, any wish, and she doesn't mind putting herself through hardships for the sake of others. But sometimes, she's a bit too little un-holy-like. Because she likes to gamble. And she's good at it, too. She's won many matches, and she's even won part of the Kokonotsu through gambling. She doesn’t consider gambling a bad thing, and doesn't consider it a game where you trick and read your opponent. Even when she does just that. Because to her, it's a game of luck, and luck gives you ways to win, right? It does help that she has exceptionally good ears thanks to an ear cuff she wears, though. After all, it's luck being able to hear the way the dice falls inside the little basket, right?

But she's also good at talking, and then I don't only mean in a joking manner. After all, she has managed to convince people to give er trade her Kokonotsu treasures, and she has been able to stop fights just by talking. She's a skilled diplomat, which is surprising for everyone when the side she always shows is her laughing side. She doesn't like being serious after all. But if she has to, she will be serious, and she will be a mediator between arguing parties, if need so be. Because fighting is boring, it's much nicer to get along.

The rare times when she shows a serious side, it's most of all because someone risks getting hurt. She dislikes seeing others get hurt, and it's even worse if someone risks dying. Because if you die, you can't come back to life, it's impossible. You should let what has died stay dead, or else the order of life, and life itself, become meaningless. If you can just live again, after losing your life, what does a person live for, and why should they even try to live their life to the fullest. Because it's important to value life, for this reason. She knows revival is researched, but she knows that is not anything natural. At least it's not natural to come back as you from your past life. Being reborn is normal, after all, but people are not reborn as what they previously were, they're born into something else. Like trees, mushrooms or animals. So people getting hurt is not a thing she likes to see, and she will do whatever she can to stop violence from ever happening when she is around.

[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]: She can't fight. But she does have a few abilities connected to some of the items she always wears. So they're listed under Important Facts. Her strength is that she's good at diplomacy. She is also good at making people laugh. But at the same time, her methods can be a bit weird.

[Limited Powers]: she doesn't have any powers. However, the items that she carries does have small abilities. See under Important facts.

[Other Important Facts]:
Inventory: the Kokonotsu (God's Seven Treasures)
(•‿•) Agate Drinking Cup (which only people with a specific blood group can touch, others gets ripped to pieces)
(•‿•) Ancient Robe (kimono that protects the one wearing it from any attack; she can't take it off)
(•‿•) Cherry Blossom Rouge (powder only someone with beautiful skin can use, otherwise "something bad" happens)
(•‿•) Dual Flowers (geta clogs)
(•‿•) Eye Stone (a jewel that looks like a cat eye)
(•‿•) Peacock Feather (kanzashi hairpin that only those with pink hair can use)
(•‿•) Sapphire Magatama (only people determined to protect others can wear this; it's impossible to take off)
(•‿•) Seven-Colored Rainbow (comb that only those pure hearted can use)
(•‿•) Silver Earcuff (something that only those determined enough can wear; it makes the one who wears them able to hear things that happens 4 km away; it's impossible to remove)

[Samples]:
♦ Thread: here, here, here, here.

+ here; here; here; here; here;

♦ Post:

[ A very energic sounding voice is heard.
Minori comes from a small village and was at a very young age taken in by a shrine as she was orphaned and gave off a special kind of aura. She was raised as a saint, highly praised, but while she appeared serene and peaceful to the villagers, to the monks at the shrine, she was a bit of a wild prankster. Not that anyone got hurt, but she did cause trouble.

One day, a traveling woman claiming to be a fortune teller came to the village, and the lord of the village, who was fond of fortunes and supernatural, let the woman into his manor. At first everything was like normal, but then the lord started to change for the worse, taking in more taxes and applying harder rules. Everyone was hoping that it would return to normal if the woman left, but when the engagement between the lord's and the woman's was announced, everyone realized that things would not get better; that it would only get worse. They went to the shrine, to ask for guidance. Minori, having heard the tale of God's Treasure, the Kokonotsu, said that she would get hold of this treasure. Because legends say, that if you get hold of God's Treasure, your wishes would be granted, and she sincerely wishes for her village to be saved.

So she set out on travel, and despite the protests of the monks, she went alone. As a charm, she got a silver ear cuff from the monks. She didn't realize at first, but as time passed, she noticed that hear ears had grown much sharper and she could hear much better after putting it on. On the other hand, she guessed that it might be because sounds was carried much better out in the open, in comparison to how it is carried in her village. "Maybe it's normal" she thought and shrugged it off.

But finding treasures from legend isn't the easiest, most of all because there are many more who are looking for it. She met a man of old age who told her about his brother having owned one; the agate drinking cup. However, as it turned out, the cup had been stolen by a gang of thieves, who used the fact that those who touched it most of the times were shred to pieces if they "were not worthy". The bandits themselves didn't want to take the risk of touching it, but they tricked people who appeared gullible to accept a drink from a stranger so that they touched it, and then stole their possessions. Since Minori looks so very innocent, plus she is a woman traveling all on her own, she was made a target. And because she knew the risks, and because she sought to get hold of the treasure, she talked the thieves into making a deal with her. They gambled for a set of items, like some clothes and other things, and Minori won. To "celebrate" her victory, the men offered her a drink in the cup, which had also been part of the deal. The thieves expected her to die when she touched the cup, but when she didn't, they were shocked to the extent that they didn't snap out of it until after she made her leave. At that point, they hunted after her, so she had to run and hide until she managed to sneak away from the town that she met the thieves in.

Continuing her trip, she meets a woman about her age, perhaps a little older, who is in possession of a comb. This comb, Minori finds out, is one of the kokonotsu, called the Seven-Colored Rainbow. The woman was troubled, and Minori listened to her story. Apparently, her younger brother had gotten roped into a cult, and couldn't get out of it. Minori offered to help, and with her abilities to negotiate, she managed to do this without any fighting, In return for her help, she received the comb.

She picked up rumors that in several towns over, in a big city, there is a kokonotsu. So she heads in that direction, passing through a forest. In this forest, when she takes a break by a small lake, she meets two ruffians, who thinks it's quite something to meet a woman traveling all on her own. They make advances on her, and suddenly, there's blood. Minori is just as surprised as the guys who are suddenly dead. She finds that there is a young man with cat like eyes, standing above her, and he has a weapon in his hand. Apparently, he saved her from the two men. But to his surprise, she was not thankful. Because killing and even hurting people happen to be bad, and she started to scowling him for quite a bit of a time. After that, she asked why he helped her in the first place, and he told her that he saw the ear cuffs that she was wearing. She didn't get what it was about them that he found so interesting, and was really surprised when he told her that it's one of the kokonotsu. How did he know that, she wonders, and he tells her that "I'm the Guardian of the Eye Stone, that's one of the kokonotsu". She tells him why she's looking for the kokonotsu, and then, because he seems so gloomy, she pushes him into the water, and because she makes him laugh, he gives her the Eye Stone and allows himself to come with her to look for the rest of the kokonotsu.

The first kokonotsu that they found together was a kimono, called the Ancient Robe. They got to hear that a person in a gambling den possessed it, and thus, that's where they went. Hikae was about to threaten the owner to give them the clothes, but Minori stopped him, and suggested a gamble. If she won, she got the kimono. If she lost, she would let her opponent have the the Eye Stone. This shocked Hikae, because what holy woman gambled? And what was she doing risking to lose the Eye Stone? But despite his protests, she went through with the game either way. And won, she did, so that was one more kokonotsu to the inventory.

On the way to the town she had heard about having one treasure, Minori and Hikae found themselves in the middle of a conflict between two different feudal lords, and Minori decided to get involved. Acting as a mediator, she managed to create peace, and even got invited to a wedding that would ascertain that peace. As a thank you, they received a kanzashi hair pin. Minori got them while hikae was not present, and Hikae informed her, later, that the new hair pin she was wearing happened to be the Peacock Feather, one of the kokonotsu.

Along the path of their travel, Minori realized the ending of her travel. She realized that it might not be true that her wish would come true, and that Hikae would have to kill her some day; the day that she reaches God's Location, with all the treasures. Still, she continues to travel with Hikae, continues to travel with him.

Moving on, they finally reached the town that had been their destination. There, Minori drags Hikae to go shop with her, especially for many different kinds of food. The visit lots of restaurants and treat shops. Much to Hikae's confusion, she takes it pretty easy and does not go to get the treasure right away. But she has decided to teach him the fun in life, and has this as her second goal. They do eventually go to the location of the treasure, though. The one who possessed it was a rich, religious man. Minori, with her knowledge from her upbringing, talked for several days and nights with the man, convincing him to give them the treasure. It was a the Sapphire Magatama, a bead protection charm.

After getting the trasure, she drags Hikae along to shop for clothes and provisions for further travel. When he talks about the next treasure, about to tell her what the last two are, she plays around with mushrooms and a tree trunk, making a crude sculpture of a persons surprised face. Because of that face, she starts to ponder the saying that "people's souls reside in items" and if that is true or not. During this line of thought, she wonders out loud what she would become, once Hikae kills her. This surprises Hikae, because he didn't know that she had realized that Hikae was going to kill her once she gathered all the treasures. When he asks why she still comes with him, and if she wants to die, she slightly panics, but says that she's still going to look for the treasures, because she wants to at least try to save her village. And she knows that everyone dies, some day, so she has chosen to die for the sake of others. This makes Hikae reconsider his own values and purposes.

After a long time of traveling on, without finding leads on the last two treasures, they take a break at a roadside rest stop to eat dango. Minori find Hikae staring at something, and when she follows his gaze, she notice Hikae is staring at a man by another seat. As it turns out, he was in possession of the last two kokonotsu treasures, the Cherry Blossom Rouge and the Dual Flowers geta. He doesn't believe in old tales like the kokonotsu, and doesn't really care about the value of the items that he possess, but he doesn't want to give up on them that easily. The powder is wonderful and the geta are beautiful, after all, and that's why he wanted them in the first place. After conversing with him, Minori first offers friendships, which baffles both men, but then she gets to know that if they can give him something that is more beautiful than the two treasures, he will give her the geta and powder. After some thinking, Minori takes out an incredibly pretty kimono, with beautiful patterns and detailed embroidery. It even has fancy fur neckline. Because the person likes it, he agrees on the exchange, with the promise of friendship.

After that, they headed for Mt. Fuji and Aokigahara, where Hikae's God, the God who wants the treasure assembled, lives. They climb the mountain, and pass the trials of opening the gate, and passing through the tunnels to God's throne room. There, Minori is killed by God.

comments
